The Veterans War Memorial of Texas
For the brave men and women in uniform who have fought and died for this great nation, we will forever be indebted to them for their selfless sacrifice. The Veterans War Memorial of Texas represents that gratitude.
At the center of the memorial, towering at 105 feet, is the “American Spire of Honor”, a five-sided, black granite structure. It is a physical embodiment of the respect and gratitude of the American people. It is a remembrance of the 1.3 million members of the armed forces who have lost their lives in each conflict that this nation has been involved in.
The Spire also serves as a constant reminder to all Americans, today and generations to come, that the freedoms we enjoy and often taken for granted come at a cost. It is earned at the horrific price of the lives of our brave men and women in uniform.
If our children and their children are to live in peace in a free nation, then they must be reminded that failing to protect these freedoms will result in the demise of the United States of America. We cannot allow for these men and women to have died in vain, and it is our hope that the Spire will forever stand as a symbol of remembrance of the greatness of America, her military, and her people.
